As the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Oregon International Ballet Academy (OIBA), Xuan Cheng enriches the Pacific Northwest dance community.

Through excellence in ballet instruction and uniquely nurturing mentorship, Cheng instills beauty, confidence, health, love and responsibility in her students, inspiring them to fulfill their dreams and become stewards of wellness in their communities. Cultivating a unique approach to formalized dance instruction, Cheng draws on cultures from around the world in a format especially designed for the modern day.

About OIBA

OIBA is a non-profit that serves the community of Oregon by providing year-round, high caliber dance instruction and professional performance opportunity to students of all ages, experience levels, backgrounds, and economic diversity. At once a world class institution and a warm international family, OIBA produces original, professional performances with live music annually, including classical ballet and contemporary work. Since the school founded in 2015, OIBA trained students have won positions in The School of American Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet Academy, San Francisco Ballet School, Ballet West Academy, Kirov Academy of Ballet, The School of Pacific Northwest Ballet School, and The School of Oregon Ballet Theatre.
